Why installation and a proper demo matter more than you think

3 min read

A large share of the complaints we see in the first month of ownership are not manufacturing defects at all. They are installation issues, or simply nobody having shown the customer how the appliance is meant to be used.

What goes wrong without proper installation

  • A washing machine that is not level will walk across the floor and sound like it is breaking.
  • A fridge pushed tight against a wall cannot shed heat, so it runs constantly and the compressor wears out early.
  • An air conditioner installed with the wrong drainage slope drips indoors.
  • A geyser fitted without attention to pressure can leak at the joints within weeks.

None of these are faults with the product. All of them get reported as faults.

The demonstration is not a formality

Most appliances have settings that meaningfully change the result — wash programmes, fridge temperature dials, the difference between modes on an air conditioner. Very few people read the manual.

Ten minutes of someone showing you the three settings you will actually use is worth more than any feature list, and it prevents the frustration that gets mistaken for a defective product.

What we do

We deliver, install and demonstrate as part of the purchase, not as an extra. We would rather spend ten minutes at the start than have you unhappy a week later — and after forty years, we know which explanations save the most trouble.
